STORY OF PUTTING FOR MIRACLES
Putting For Miracles is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization. Our mission is to “raise funds in support of other 501c3 organizations that cater to the needs of children.”
Putting For Miracles was born in May of 2022, a result of Dave and Stacy’s unwavering dedication. Their journey began during ‘Children’s Hospital Week’ in Florida, where they were inspired by a gentleman’s nationwide Charity Golf Tournaments for CMN. This sparked their determination to plan their first event for that August.
To completely understand where they are coming from, you first have to understand that it started with Dave participating in Extra Life, which involves raising funds via a 24-hour gaming marathon. He had been participating for more than 10 years, and in those years, he had brought in over $10,000 for CMN Hershey.
In just three months, the August 2022 event was a testament to our rapid growth. Despite our lack of experience in golf tournaments, we managed to attract over 60 participants and 30 sponsors, with 20 of the 36 holes sponsored. This event alone helped us raise over $5,000, a significant milestone for our young organization.
In the spring of 2023, they kicked off the “First Annual Putting For Miracles” Charity Mini Golf Tournament. They wanted more extensive and better for this event, improved upon the 2022 event, got more volunteers involved, and added vendors and food trucks. The May 2023 event brought over 20 vendors and four food trucks, and the event had brought in over 100 participants; all 36 holes were sponsored, and all the participants were given custom t-shirts. The overwhelming support from the local businesses for the raffle items and sponsorships was staggering. That event brought over $10,000 to the Penn State Children’s Hospital!
Then came May 2024; they thought outside the box and wanted to include a Cornhole Tournament alongside the Golf Tournament, well the weather had other plans; despite the event being wet, they had over 100 participants still show, and a dozen vendors, and there was also a massive help from the LCBC Manheim church members when over a dozen showed up to volunteer and did whatever needed to be done for their Impact PA day. All the holes were also sponsored, and almost all the teams were sold out. They also received massive responses from local businesses regarding how many raffle items they contributed! Even though it was essentially a washout, they still raised over $11,000 for CMN Hershey!

Putting For Miracles 2025
Our next event will be on June 7, 2025, at Leisure Lanes in Lancaster, Pa.
In case you have not seen, 2025, our event will benefit two non-profits, as in the past: Children’s Miracles Network (Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital) and the Hudsen Memorial Ride.
According to the CMN website, “All donations benefit local member hospitals to fund what’s needed most, like critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, child life services that put kids’ and families’ minds at ease during difficult hospital stays, and financial assistance for families who could not otherwise afford these health services.”
Hudsen Memorial Ride Inc., a non-profit organization, is on a mission to honor the memory of J. Hudsen Wolfe V, a brave young warrior who battled Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) while supporting other families facing the same daunting challenge. While the annual ride is the cornerstone event, Hudsen Memorial Ride’s efforts extend far beyond. The organization
participates in local Halloween parades, spreading awareness about DIPG and the urgent need for increased pediatric cancer
funding. Their mission is clear: to provide support and assistance to DIPG warriors and their families while educating the public about this underfunded, rare, and devastating childhood cancer. In 7 years of having the ride, they have raised over $40,000.

OUR 2024 TEAM
As always, it takes a team to make things go smoothly. For the 2022 event, our team was a little disorganized; we had three months to prepare. But for the 2023 event, we had most of our ducks in a row and could delegate shares of the responsibilities to others. Without a team behind it all, 2023 would’ve not gone so well; I can guarantee that I am very appreciative of all the volunteers who took time out of their Saturday (and then some) to help us achieve our success.
